High On Meth With A Machete: Pierce Co. K9 Nabs Suspect

The 54-year-old suspect took off into the woods after a domestic dispute. But it didn't take the K9 long to find him.

ROY, WA - A Pierce County K9 recently tracked down and captured a suspect who was high on methamphetamine and possibly armed with a machete. The suspect had fled the scene of a domestic dispute and was found hiding in the grass.

Just before 1 a.m. last Friday, Pierce deputies responded to a report of a woman being assaulted by her boyfriend at a home along 356th Street South in Roy. The 911 caller reported that the boyfriend was armed with a machete and had recently used meth.

At the scene, deputies deployed K9 Ammo, who immediately began following a scent. The dog followed the scent through the neighborhood and into the woods. Ammo eventually came to a large open field, where he located the 54-year-old suspect hiding.
