Latest: 182,000 Ballots Left To Tally In King County
King County Elections said more than 455,000 ballots have been processed in the 2019 General Election.

KING COUNTY, WA — After Thursday afternoon's ballot drop, about 182,000 ballots still need to be counted, according to King County Elections. Officials estimated 77,000 of those ballots belonged to Seattle voters. Overall, 455,885 King County ballots were processed by Thursday night. Countywide voter turnout hovered just above 34 percent.
Updated numbers narrowed the margins in a few races in the region, including a hotly contested race in Seattle's District 3, between Kshama Sawant and Egan Orion. Some council races in Auburn, Bothell, Covington, Des Moines, Mercer Island, Medina, Renton, Shoreline, and Woodinville were separated by less than 100 votes.
Other races maintained clear frontrunners, including the King County Council District 2 contest, where Girmay Zahilay leads longtime councilmember Larry Gosset by 17 points. Proposition Number 1 — a parks levy — continued on a clear path to victory with 80 percent voter approval.
