Lindsey Baum Murder: Remains Of Girl Found In E. Washington

Lindsey Baum disappeared in 2009. She came home this week the way everyone had feared.

MCLEARY, WA - The Grays Harbor Sheriff's Department on Thursday broke the news that many had feared was coming: Lindsey Baum, who disappeared in June 2009, had been murdered, and her remains had been recovered in remote Eastern Washington.

Now, police are turning their focus on finding the person who killed the 10-year-old McCleary girl.

Grays Harbor County Sheriff Rick Scott said Thursday that hunters found Baum's body last September. The remains were sent to the FBI crime lab in Quantico, Va., but were not identified as Baum's until recently.

Police would not give say where in Eastern Washington the remains were found to protect the integrity of the investigation.

The FBI and Grays Harbor County will work together to track down Baum's killer. Police are still accepting for tips from the public.
