Magnitude 3.3 Earthquake Hits North Puget Sound

The quake struck Friday morning around 10 a.m., according to seismologists.

FRIDAY HARBOR, WA - A magnitude 3.3 earthquake struck near the San Juan Islands Friday morning, according to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network.

The quake was detected at 10:09 a.m. about 21 miles northwest of Friday Harbor, which is on San Juan Island. The quake was the strongest and most recent quake near Washington. There have been a series of small quakes off Shaw Island in recent weeks.
