Men With Machete, Chains Attack Good Samaritan

A good Samaritan attempting to stop two men from harassing a homeless person was attacked and critically injured Wednesday night.

BURIEN, WA - Two men harassed a homeless man then attacked a passerby who was trying to help, according to KIRO 7. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. Wednesday near Southwest 148th Street and First Avenue. The two men, between the ages of 25 and 30, left a nearby restaurant and began provoking a homeless man.

The 39-year-old passerby tried to help but was attacked by the men, who were wielding a machete and chains. KIRO 7 reported that the man was critically injured and transported to Harborview Medical Center.

Employees from the restaurant managed to capture and detain one of the suspects. Deputies pursued and arrested the other suspect.
