Missing Boy, 2, May Have Driven Into Skagit River

The boy was driving a child-size electric vehicle on Thursday night when he disappeared near Conway.

CONWAY, WA - Authorities suspect that a missing 2-year-old boy accidently drove his child-size electric vehicle into the Skagit River Thursday night, according to reports. The Skagit County Sheriff's Office recovered the electric vehicle in the river near Conway, but haven't found the boy.

According to GoSkagit.com, deputies were alerted to the boy's disappearance around 4 p.m. While searching the banks of the river, deputies discovered tracks leading straight into the water. The vehicle was found farther downstream.

In addition to Skagit deputies, police from Snohomish County, Swinomish Tribal Police, and Navy divers from Whidbey Island responded to the scene, according to GoSkagit. Search crews did not find the boy as of Thursday night, but will continue to search until they do.
