New Orleans Man Killed In Wrong-Way I-5 Crash

The 28-year-old man was driving northbound in the southbound lanes near Lacey early Sunday morning.

LACEY, WA - A 28-year-old man from New Orleans died early Sunday morning after a wrong-way crash along I-5.

Courtney J. Brown was driving northbound in the southbound lanes around 4:45 a.m. Sunday near Carpenter Road. Brown drove his 2018 Chevrolet Malibu head-on into a Toyota 4Runner SUV being driven by a 16-year-old girl from Chehalis.

The 16-year-old was taken to St. Peter Hospital in Olympia for treatment, but Brown was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Washington State Patrol.

An investigation into the crash blocked southbound lanes for more than four hours Sunday morning.
