Pierce County Detectives Search For Level 3 Sex Offender

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department says a Level III sex offender cut off his GPS tracker right after release.

TACOMA, WA — Detectives with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department are searching for a Level III sex offender they believe cut his GPS bracelet off, shortly after getting out of prison. Investigators said Ron Clayton was released in the Tacoma area on October 5th. He is described as 40 years old, 6-feet tall and weighing 225 pounds. He is believed to have ties to Pierce and Kitsap counties.

Q13 News reports Clayton was previously convicted of first-degree rape and assault charges when he was 16. He most recently served two years in prison for failing to register as a sex offender. Detectives ask anyone who sees him to call 911.
