Police Nab Suspects In 3 Lynnwood Bank Robberies

A tracking device placed on the stolen cash led police to the suspects.

LYNNWOOD, WA - A local bank was robbed Tuesday afternoon, but police were able to track down the alleged robbers shortly after. The suspects in the robbery of a bank in the 200 block of 164th St SW allegedly claimed that they had a bomb device with a trigger. However, bomb experts later determined that the device was fake.

Police believe the one of the suspects involved in the crime also robbed two other Lynnwood banks on Jan. 18 and Jan. 22.

Police said a bank employee in this case placed a tracking device on cash that the suspects took during the 3 p.m. robbery. Police located the suspects and the tracking device in a vehicle near Meridian and 164th St SW after a patrol deputy noticed clothing that matched the suspect's partially hidden under the car's seat.
