SNOQUALMIE PASS, WA — Eastbound travel was brought to a halt over Snoqualmie Pass Wednesday after several spin-outs and crashes a few miles west of the summit. The Washington State Department of Transportation said the closure began at milepost 47, near Denny Creek, around 4 p.m. Eastbound lanes reopened shortly before 5:30 p.m., and chains were required on all vehicles, except those with all-wheel or four-wheel drive.

Cold conditions will remain in place throughout the region into next week, and another round of heavy snow is forecast to bring between 14 and 20 inches of snow to Stevens Pass, Snoqualmie Pass, and White Pass between Friday and Saturday.
