TACOMA, WA — A fire that destroyed a Tacoma restaurant and caused its roof to collapse Tuesday night is being investigated as a possible arson. Tacoma Fire crews were called to the 8400 block of South Hosmer Street around 11 p.m. The News Tribune reports the blaze started in the back of the Great Wall Buffet. Firefighters said no one was inside the building when they arrived, and no injuries have been reported.

Flames took several hours to extinguish, and firefighters had to pull back just before the roof collapsed. Once investigators were able to enter the building, they determined the fire's origin was suspicious. The Tacoma Police Department's arson unit will take over the investigation to determine who may be responsible.
