WA Driver License Offices Will Close For 4 Days

Most online and in-person Department of Licensing services will be unavailable until after Labor Day.

OLYMPIA, WA - Don't plan on renewing your license until after Labor Day. State driver licensing offices will close beginning on Friday, and most online services are already unavailable as the Department of Licensing overhauls its computer systems.

The office and online closures will last until Sept. 4. Here are more details from the state DOL:

  • DOL's driver licensing offices and counters will be closed and vehicle licensing services will be unavailable Aug. 31 through Sept. 3
  • Some online services will be unavailable starting Aug. 26

  • Change your driver license to an ID card if you no longer plan to drive
  • Replace a lost license even if you have a CDL
  • Apply for a restricted license
  • Pre-apply for an Enhanced Driver License online
