Washington Is 6th 'Most Fun' State ... Probably Because Of Rain

Washington ranked highly for fun activities that take place mostly indoors.

SEATTLE, WA - When you think of fun activities in Washington, you might think of something outdoors - a hike, a whale watch, or even a drive up Mt. Rainier. But according to a new ranking from the personal finance website WalletHub, Washington's indoor activities make the state more fun than others.

Overall, Washington ranked No. 6 on WalletHub's list. The state scored above-average (compared to other states) for availability of casinos, movie theaters, fitness centers, and performing arts centers. Those are all perfectly fun places to go - but even better because you can enjoy them in the rain.

Washington scored below average for activities like golf and other outdoor sports. Access to national parks? We came in - oddly - No. 23 in the nation, which is about average in the U.S.
