Wet Weather May Return With A Slight Chance Of Snow Sunday
Forecasters are tracking a weak weather system that could bring a dusting of snow to some lowland areas Sunday.
SEATTLE, WA — Sunday may welcome precipitation back to Puget Sound after a streak of sunny days over Thanksgiving. The National Weather Service said a weather system will move into our area from the south, potentially beginning as snow or freezing rain across the lowlands. By mid-to-late morning, any snowfall will likely turn to rain, and no accumulation is expected.
Forecasters said there is a possibility that some lowland areas will stay dry, with nothing more than a slight wind. Travelers will want to check pass conditions before heading out the door, but the mountains are forecast to receive only minor accumulation.
Temperatures Sunday will remain on the chilly side, but warmer than the last few days. Afternoon highs are forecast in the low 40s for Seattle, Tacoma, and Everett. The beginning of the workweek looks dry and slightly warmer. Some rain showers could return Tuesday.
