Winter Weather Advisory, Rain To Start Puget Sound Weekend

The weekend forecast for Puget Sound includes rain, sun, and even a winter weather advisory.

SEATTLE, WA - A round of rain showers (snow up in the Pierce County Cascades) will kick off the weekend - but then we'll have sunshine clear to Sunday, according to the latest forecasts.

Rain will fall all day Friday and will be heavy at times, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasts show 2/3 inch of rain in Southwest Washington, and about 1/4 inches in the Seattle area.

On top of that, there's a winter weather advisory in effect until Saturday morning for the Cascades in Pierce and Lewis counties. Up to 4 inches of snow could fall overnight, and Mt. Rainier National Park has closed Sunrise Road due to the winter weather.
