Man Injured In Bellevue Shooting Near Cougar Mountain

Police said one man was shot several times on Village Park Drive Southeast Friday morning. A suspect is still at-large.

BELLEVUE, WA — One person is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a shooting in the Lakemont area Friday morning, according to the Bellevue Police Department. Officers responded to the 5300 block of Village Park Drive Southeast shortly before 8:30 a.m. and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds outside an apartment complex.

A spokesperson for the police department said a search for the shooter is underway, and a command post was established at Lakemont Park. Investigators released an initial description of a male suspect shortly before 10 a.m. but later revised to clarify that the person could be female.

Further details on the circumstances of the shooting were not immediately released. Lakemont Boulevard was closed in the area during the initial investigation and reopened around 10 a.m. The police department said additional information will be released as available.
