2 Arrested After Suspected Hate Crime, Robbery In Bellevue
Bellevue Police said two suspects called a woman a terrorist, then assaulted her and demanded her wallet.

BELLEVUE, WA — Two people were arrested Tuesday after a suspected hate crime and robbery in Bellevue. Police said a 35-year-old woman, who recently immigrated from India, was assaulted, robbed, and called a "terrorist" while she was walking along 148th Avenue Northeast. Police said the suspects — a 29-year-old man, and a 47-year-old woman — demanded the victim's wallet. A witness approached the pair and exchanged words with them before they ran away.
According to Bellevue PD, several officers quickly responded to the scene, along with a police K9 who tracked the suspects through an apartment complex, and into some bushes near a bus stop.
"Hate and hate crimes have no place in the city of Bellevue," Police Chief Steve Mylett said in a news release. "We will do whatever it takes to find anyone who's committed a hate crime, arrest them and build the strongest case possible against them for prosecutors."
