2 Rescued From Lake Sammamish After Boat Sinks Near Bellevue

Eastside firefighters rescued two people after their boat sunk in Lake Sammamish Monday afternoon.

BELLEVUE, WA — Two people are safely back onshore after their boat sunk in Lake Sammamish Monday afternoon, according to the Bellevue Fire Department.

Rescue crews were called to the lake shortly before 1 p.m. on reports of people in the water near Weowna Park.

Bellevue Fire said a ladder truck team and a marine unit from the sheriff's office were able to reach the victims and get them safely to shore. Firefighters said both victims warmed up in an Eastside Fire vehicle but did not require a visit to the hospital.
