Inaction on climate change. Unfair taxation and income inequality. Government shutdowns. Immigrant detention.
What do all these issues have in common? A common root: the influence of money on politics.
On Saturday May 3rd, WAmend <http://wamend.org/> and MOVI <http://moneyoutvotersin.org/> will be hosting a forum, The 28th Amendment National Roadshow, exploring recent developments, including the McCutcheon v. FEC ruling, that have opened the floodgates to money in our political system and what we can do, including amending the constitution, to build a truly equitable democracy.
The day will feature great speakers including John Nichols author of Dolloracracy, Edgar Franks of Move To Amend, and a sneak peek of the upcoming film Pay 2 Play: Democracy's High Stakes, and training around how to have your voice heard. We will also rally the troops around the signature gathering that is happening for I-1329. We need 250,000 signatures this summer.
We hope you can join us and help spread the word.
Together we can make a difference.
