5 Bellevue Beaches Staff Lifeguards Through Labor Day
City lifeguards will watch the waters seven days a week through Sept. 7.
BELLEVUE, WA — Lifeguards will remain on-duty at five Bellevue parks through Labor Day, the city announced Wednesday. Swim areas at Entai, Chism, Clyde, Newcastle Beach and Meydenbauer Bay will be staffed seven days a week, between noon at 7 p.m.
Chesterfield Park, a smaller park with less activity, will not have lifeguards.
According to the city, visitors are not required to wear face coverings while swimming but should wear them at other times when they are unable to stay at least six feet away from others. Beach lifeguards are not required to wear masks while sitting in lifeguard chairs, which are elevated, to allow them to communicate with visitors.
