Allstate Employees Partner Together for Bring Out the Good Month in Bothell

Bothell Allstate employees partner with Project Linus for Bring Out the Good Month

“At Allstate, we believe in improving lives and making communities stronger,” says Annell Nelson, Allstate Bring Out the Good Month project coordinator.

Throughout April, Allstate employees and agency owners across the country volunteered their time to address pressing social needs.

Recently, Bothell-based Allstate employees and agency owners banded together with Project Linus. These volunteers helped prepare materials to be made as comfort blankets for local children as part of Allstate’s annual Bring Out The Good Month.

This volunteer project was one of hundreds supported by nearly 13,000 Allstaters. Together, Allstate employees and agency owners also raised more than $7 million for more than 8,000 nonprofit organizations.

“Bring Out the Good Month has special meaning for Allstaters,” adds Nelson. “It’s a time we can come together around the country to volunteer for the causes we’re passionate about and help staff soup kitchens, mentor youth and beautify community spaces. Supporting others is truly our purpose and it’s a source of pride for us.”

Bothell employees, sales leaders, legal teams, agency owners and staff helped set up a special room at a local office and prepared materials to be made into blankets. The volunteers completed 18 blankets and pinned another 30. The blankets were donated within the community to hospitals, foster care programs and police/fire agencies to help comfort local children. Project Linus is a national nonprofit organization that strives to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.”

In addition to volunteering during Allstate’s Bring Out the Good Month, Allstaters are encouraged to support local nonprofits throughout the year. In 2016, Allstate employees and agency owners donated 230,000 volunteer hours and supported more than 8,800 nonprofits with monetary donations.
