Amazon Donates $100K To KidsQuest Children's Museum

The museum said the gift will help it expand its community programs and return to full operations in the weeks and months ahead.

BELLEVUE, WA — Amazon has awarded a $100,000 grant to Bellevue's KidsQuest Children's Museum, which will help the museum along its path toward full operations after more than a year of pandemic impacts.

In an announcement this month, the museum said an 11-month full closure led to a 75 percent reduction in staffing as the museum shifted to offering educational kits, online learning and other remote options through partnerships with libraries, schools and social services.

"The pandemic exposed inequities in access to education and KidsQuest jumped in without hesitation to bring hands-on learning to families that needed it most," said Pearl Leung, a senior manager at Amazon. "They quickly innovated new tools and programs to increase access. We must now take the learnings of the past 18 months to create a more equitable future."
