Shelley Sobel, a resident of Pacific Regent in Bellevue, has been awarded a feature spot in Expressions 2014, an award-winning calendar celebrating active aging and the arts. His stained glass panel entitled “Seascape 13” was selected from hundreds of submissions by artists coast to coast.
Dr. Sobel took up stained glass following his retirement as a dental prosthodontist. After moving to Pacific Regent in 2011, he began teaching a popular class in stained glass making there, earning him a 2013 Watermark University Faculty of the Year Award. He created “Seascape 13” as a gift to Pacific Regent. Measuring three feet by two feet, it is on permanent display between the community’s indoor pool and fitness area.
