Bellevue Asks For Input On Downtown 'Grand Connection' Plan
Some proposed new designs for the route include covering I-405 downtown and adding public space.

BELLEVUE, WA - The city has opened up a new website to solicit feedback on ideas for the Grand Connection, a non-motorized pathway that would cross downtown from Meydenbauer Bay to the eastside rail corridor.
This newest online open house includes draft designs for public open space, new parking options for the Downtown Park, and an I-405 crossing, among other ideas. This newest open house complements the city's first online open house (it's still ongoing, and you can visit it here), which focused on ideas for the pathway's route across the city.
The newest draft designs present several interesting ideas about how to connect the pathway over I-405. One rendering features a grassy lid covering the expressway between NE 6th and NE 4th streets.
