Bellevue Boys & Girls Club Gets New CEO

New CEO Tim Motts comes to Bellevue from a Hawaii Boys & Girls Club.

From BGC of Bellevue: Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue have announced that Tim Motts, formerly the CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Hawaii, has been selected as their new President/CEO. Tim assumed his new role on February 18, 2019, overseeing the Club’s 14 Club sites, over 110 employees, 1,400 volunteers and a $5.5M budget.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hawaii is the 45th largest organization in the national movement, with 15,000 members, a $6.2M budget and over 400 staff and volunteers. Under Tim’s leadership, the Hawaii organization recognized 6 straight years of growth in both revenue and youth impact. Prior to that position, Tim was the CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of West San Gabriel Valley for 4 years, also leading the Club in tremendous growth, both in increased revenues and youth membership. Tim will be relocating to Bellevue with his wife and three young sons, who are all anxious to get involved in the local community.

Tim succeeds Kathy Haggart, who will retire from the Club the end of April, after 25 years of service to the youth of our community. She has overseen the organization’s growth from one main Clubhouse in 1994 to 14 Clubhouses throughout Bellevue, serving over 11,000 kids. She has expanded and diversified programming and services to not only our youth, but their families and the community. Under her leadership, the Club’s recent capital campaign raised over $21M, funding the new, much needed, Main Clubhouse in downtown Bellevue, multiple satellite facilities and a recreation fieldhouse in Hidden Valley Park. She has created a powerhouse board, built strong partnerships with local organizations, community leaders and businesses and received national recognition from Boys & Girls Clubs of America for excellence year after year.

“After a thoughtful and comprehensive search process that began a year ago when I announced my retirement, I am thrilled with Tim’s appointment,” said Haggart. “We are a very strong and successful organization and I know that Tim’s experience as a leader will guide the Club’s continued success into the future. His energy and enthusiasm will be a perfect fit with the Board, staff, constituents and partners. He has an excellent reputation within the Boys & Girls Club movement, and I am confident he will continue to embrace the Club’s mission and culture that we have been known for in our community for over 67 years!”
