Bellevue Cop Intercepts Wallet Thief At Local Store
On Saturday, a man's wallet was stolen. A Bellevue bike cop was able to find and arrest the thief - and recover the wallet.

BELLEVUE, WA - Bellevue officer Amir Mousavi very well might have saved Christmas for one local man.
Mousavi was on bike patrol in downtown Bellevue Saturday when he was approached by a man whose wallet had been stolen. The victim told Mousavi that the wallet contained a large amount of cash, and that his bank had told him the card was being used at a local grocery store.
Mousavi sped to the grocery store on his bike and located the suspect just as he was converting the cash to gift cards, according to Bellevue police. Mousavi arrested the suspect - who had two outstanding warrants - and he was booked into the King County Jail.

This isn't the first time Mousavi has made a high-profile arrest. In 2016, he arrested a woman who bought a $9,000 purse at Hermes with a stolen credit card.
Bellevue's bicycle unit was only recently reinstated in 2016. The bike cops patrol park trails, the downtown area, and shopping centers. In 2016, bike unit officers made about 150 arrests, according to Bellevue police.
