Bellevue Family Escapes Early Morning House Fire
Firefighters from Bellevue, Kirkland, and Redmond responded to the fire.

BELLEVUE, WA - A fire broke out in a home near Glendale Country Club early Thursday morning. But firefighters credit a smoke detector for alerting the people inside, allowing them to escape safely.
The fire broke out in a home along the 800 block of 134th Avenue Northeast, which is near the intersection of Northeast 8th Street. The fire originated in a cabana attached to the home, firefighters reported, but smoke from the fire set off a smoke detector in the main living space.
The two parents were able to get their three children and dog outside the home safely. Firefighters from Bellevue, Redmond, and Kirkland responded to the fire and had it under control in minutes.
