Bellevue Prostitution Sting Nets 100 Arrests
A sting operation by local law enforcement targeted online buyers of sex.

BELLEVUE, WA - A massive undercover operation by Bellevue Police and the King County Sheriff's Office has resulted in the arrest of more than 100 people for soliciting prostitution. The sting was intended to target buyers of sex in an effort to curb demand for prostitution. Police said this has proven to be an effective way to reduce human trafficking throughout King County.
The individuals caught in "Operation On Demand" will be charged with soliciting prostitution, which is a misdemeanor. Prosecutor Stephen Penner, pictured above, is expected to begin filing charges in the case this afternoon.
“A year ago, the Bellevue Police Department and the King County Sheriff’s Office dismantled a large scale human trafficking ring,” said Bellevue Police Chief Steve Mylett. “This operation is a continuation of our effort to eradicate human trafficking crimes. We will continue to devote our combined resources to combat this plague.”
