Bellevue Ranked A Top 10 Place To Live In U.S.

Olympia, Renton, and Edmonds also made Livability.com's annual list of Top 100 Best Places to Live.

BELLEVUE, WA - An annual index of the top 100 cities in the U.S. is out, and several Washington cities made the cut. Bellevue came in No. 6 on Livability.com's top 100 list, the second-highest Washington city on the list after Olympia, which was ranked No. 4. This is the fourth year in a row Bellevue has made the list.

Livability.com gave Bellevue high marks for having a booming downtown business district, lots of healthcare options, and high-quality education nearby, including Bellevue College.

"A high-ranking healthcare system exists along with a downtown district that accommodates 1,300 businesses, and shoppers have choices like Bellevue Square and three major malls. An annual Bellevue Arts and Crafts Fair has occurred since 1947," the website said about Bellevue.

Not to be outdone, Renton, Edmonds, and Richland all made the list. Renton came in No. 51, and Edmonds was No. 96. Renton - which the website erroneously said is "10 miles southeast of Seattle" - got called out for its school district, and being home to Boeing and the Seahawks training camp. Edmonds won accolades for its parks and proximity to outdoor activities.

"Renton is the final assembly point for Boeing 737 commercial jets, and quality of life conveniences include Valley Medical Center and a highly regarded school district," the website said about Renton.

Livability.com analyzed data on over 2,100 cities from around the U.S. with populations between 20,000 and 350,000 (which is why local cities like Woodinville, Seattle, Enumclaw, Gig Harbor, and others didn't make the cut) to come up with the top 100. The data covered variables like schools, hospitals, crime rates, and entertainment amenities like golf courses or art museums.
