Bellevue, Seattle Drivers Among Worst In U.S., Study Says
Local drivers ranked in the bottom half of drivers in the nation's biggest cities, according to insurer Allstate.

BELLEVUE, WA - We all complain about how bad other drivers are. But now we have a better of idea just how bad other drivers in Puget Sound are.
In a new ranking, car insurer Allstate ranked large cities on factors like how often drivers brake too hard and the length of time between insurance claims. Bellevue and Seattle came out toward the bottom of the list. In fact, Seattle was one of the biggest city to be ranked so low on the list.
The list featured the top 200 biggest cities. Drivers in Brownsville, Texas, were ranked No. 1, Baltimore drivers came in dead last.

Here's how Washington cities ranked on the list:
- No. 103, Spokane
- No. 151, Vancouver (Wash.)
- No. 157, Bellevue
- No. 167, Tacoma
- No. 179, Seattle
In Bellevue, the average driver goes about 7 years between car insurance claims and experience about 24 "hard braking" events per 1,000 miles driven. Seattle drivers went about 6.4 years between claims and had about 19.7 hard-braking events per 1,000 miles.
