'Best In Show' Brussels Griffon Has Bellevue Ties
"Newton" won the top prize at the annual Thanksgiving Day National Dog Show.

BELLEVUE, WA - The winner of the annual Thanksgiving Day National Dog Show was an 11-pound Brussels Griffon named Newton. The charming little dog has Puget Sound roots: Newton was bred in part by Bellevue breeder Keith Jacobson.
Newton - whose full name is CH Somerset Wynzall Hashtag - beat 2,100 other dogs competing in the Kennel Club of Philadelphia's annual show. Next, Newton will compete in the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in February at Madison Square Garden.
Best in show judge Peter Green complimented Newton on his grooming. Newton was also said to have a "good attitude."

"His coat is in fantastic condition and he moved perfectly. Everything he did was right. I know a lot about the breed and I know how difficult it is to have them ready," Green said in a press release.
A number of people are responsible for Newton's success. He's owned by Mike and Janey Bazell of Rockbridge, Ohio, and Ven Grasso of Samford, Australia. Along with Jacobson, Newton was bred by Jo Ann Nofsinger of Alberta, Canada. His handler at the show was Susan DePaw.
