Big Buildings, Big Difference
While Bellevue is increasing building heights, our biggest buildings are staying truer to their place.
Bellevue has two of the buildings with the most office space (sqft) in Washington State according to PSBJ: Boeing Computer Services (2525-3076 160th Ave. SE) and City Center Plaza (555 110th Ave. NE).
Seattle’s Columbia Tower is just over double Boeing CS floor area, but is 76 stories tall. Boeing is just three stories.
City Centers Plaza is about one-third the height and office floor area of the Columbia Tower.

Although Bellevue's Downtown is only 60% built out, Bellevue is not looking to reach Seattle heights. The Columbia Tower is 967ft . Bellevue code only allows for 600 ft in a limited downtown area (DT-O-1 district), 135ft (F-3 zone) in Eastgate, and 150ft in some areas of BelRed. Changes to the Wilburton area are under way and are expected to be not exceed the maximum in other areas.
