Hanging Out Down at the Inter-Dog Café

I used to wonder why Schnitzel lingers and marks at one tree or landmark far longer at than another.

One minute, I am causally leashing along and in the next I am jerked to a standstill - while he hangs back to sniff, and sniff again.

With Schnitzel, some trees and bushes merit a sniff of mere seconds while to others he will return to again and again to spend sig-sniff-icant amounts of time perusing dog-relevant information and leaving his own canine contribution. 

And one day I grokked. Schnitzel was simply visiting his favorite local inter-dog cafe to read his p-mail, and dispatch his own.

(BTW If this is a blog-post – is what he does a "dog-post?")

Hanging out with Schnitzel at his inter-dog cafe also brings to mind the Crossroads Bellevue shopping center magazine stand. Taking a coffee break, I frequently observe humans linger and loiter perusing publications in much the same way.

So it is only fair that I get to hang out patiently while he takes the time to read his own Inbox (dogbox?).

After all he hangs out patiently next to my desk as I read mine.
