As Brush Fires Rage, Puget Sound Headed Toward Record Dry Streak
Sunday was day 36 without measurable rain in most of Western Washington. The all-time record is 51 days.

BELLEVUE, WA - There are burn bans in place across Western Washington as the region passes more than a month without measurable rain. Brush fires are popping up all over - with especially big ones over the weekend in Lacey, Bellevue, and north of Gig Harbor - and the region is just 15 days from breaking the all-time no-rain record of 51 days.
This week's forecast: more sun, more heat, and no rain. On Sunday morning, the National Weather Service seemed to suggest that we'll break the 51-day record, providing data showing that July into August is usually one of the driest times for Western Washington.
