“The Duck boat was 100 yards in front of me, the first car in front of me,” Jesse Christensen, 32, told the Seattle Times. “What I saw was the Duck Boat had its blinker on, trying to get in the left lane. Then all of a sudden the Duck boat turned sharper into the left. I initially thought it was a blow out. The duck boat then hit another car with a roof rack then went head on into the oncoming tour bus.”
Ride the Ducks has provided amphibious tours of Seattle since 1997, according to the company website. The company gets its name from the modified DUKW vehicles — an amphibious landing craft from World War II — it uses for tours. The company is independently owned and operated and employs more than 120 people.
Aurora Bridge has been closed for all pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
