There you are getting ready to eat a nice lunch you made for yourself and the phone rings. You get up and answer the phone, Ugh it's a cold call. You get off no more then 30 seconds later and return to see, Your meal is missing.
Next to the table you see your loved little one licking his/her lips in satisfaction. But if you stayed in the room, your dog never tried to get on the counter or table.
So how do you stop them from going after things when your not there?
I have a concept called the "Dog God" that can help. The Dog God is anything that startles the dog that they didn't think came from you. Have you ever heard of the "Can of coins trick"? Get a can of coins, wait for your dog to go for food in another room and when he/she gets close to the food, toss the can in the room. Immediately remove the can and hide it from the dog.
The dog will think that the "Dog God" that see's all, doesn't like him/her going after the food on the counter.
