Driver Arrested For DUI After Crashing Into Tree In Bellevue

Bellevue Police said the driver of a minivan was suspected of impaired driving after crashing into a tree, toppling it onto the road.

BELLEVUE, WA — The driver of a red minivan was arrested Friday after crashing into a tree on West Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast. Police officers were called to the crash shortly before 4 p.m. and closed the road while medics worked to pull the driver from the vehicle.

The road remained fully blocked while Bellevue Transportation crews worked to clear the tree and tow the minivan. All lanes reopened before 4:30 p.m. Police said the driver was taken to the hospital before being arrested on suspicion of DUI.
