After a docent tour of “Gather Up the Fragments: The Andrews Shaker Collection” and “Bold Expressions: African American Quilts from the Collection of Corrine Riley,”Jen Graves, art critic for The Stranger, will discuss how artists use craft as an expression of communality as well as push against the restriction that might come with the word "tradition."
