Breakdown: Bellevue has gotten through the brutal part of its schedule without a loss, starting the year 0-2 despite playing two top-tier programs in Skyline and Oaks Christian. The story for the Wolverines so far has been their defense, which has forced six turnovers in two games and held the 15th-ranked team in the nation in Oaks Christian to 21 points and the number one ranked 4A team in the state in Skyline to 17 points. Interlake is 0-2 after starting the season against two 4A opponents in Newport and Roosevelt. The Saints have hung tough in both games, falling 43-34 to Newport and 21-7 to Roosevelt. Jordan Todd has rushed for 292 yards in two games for Interlake.

Breakdown: Newport is 1-1 on the season after falling 36-21 to Mercer Island last week. The Knights have been hampered by first half struggles in both games played this season, trailing at halftime to both Interlake and the Islanders. Newport rallied to beat Interlake, but could not get out of the 29-0 hole it dugs itself in to against Mercer Island. Quarterback Isaac Dotson has rushed for 221 yards and four touchdowns in two games for Newport. Bothell is also 1-1, having fallen to Union in the season opener before beating Mount Si 26-14 last week. Bothell runs a balanced offense that has rushed for 329 yards and passed for 349 in the first two games.
