Fundraiser Started To Rebuild Bellevue Mosque Destroyed By Fire

The Islamic Center of Eastside is trying to reach a $500,000 goal by Feb. 14.

BELLEVUE, WA - Members of the Islamic Center of Eastside have kicked off a fundraiser to rebuild the mosque, which was partially destroyed by a suspected arson fire early Saturday morning.

Mosque member Faheed Subhani started the fundraiser on Saturday with a $500,000 goal. As of Sunday morning, the mosque had raised approximately $125,000. The deadline for the fundraiser is Feb. 14.

Half of the mosque was destroyed in the fire on Saturday, leaving the rest of the mosque completely unusable. The Islamic Center of Eastside is temporarily holding services at the Highland Community Center along Bel-Red Road.
