The accident happened around 5:15 a.m. Wednesday in downtown Bellevue and completely closed I-405 for about an hour. The left two lanes were reopened at the Main Street on-ramp around 6:15 a.m., but that didn't help traffic flow through the area.
The traffic delay stretched 7-miles down 405 at one point, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The semi became wedged between the pillars of the overpass, and barriers along the exit were damaged.
