I-90 Slowdown: Lanes Reduced In Bellevue All Weekend
I-90 westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane in Bellevue beginning at 11 p.m. Friday.

BELLEVUE, WA - If you you need to get to Seattle this weekend, it's probably best to avoid I-90.
All westbound lanes will be reduced to one lane at Bellevue Way this weekend and then routed onto the express lanes. The highway will be just two lanes in the area where traffic merges onto I-90 from Bellevue Way and I-405.
The slowdown begins Friday at 11 p.m. and ends at 5 a.m. Monday morning. Throughout the weekend, the only westbound exit to Mercer Island will be East Mercer Way. Traveling from Mercer Island to Seattle, drivers can access the I-90 express lanes via Island Crest Way. The Rainier Avenue exit in Seattle from westbound I-90 will be closed all weekend.

The westbound closure is related to a Washington State Department of Transportation project to add HOV lanes to I-90. Read more about the project here.
