Is it safe for me to eat tuna?

Fish is good for you and your kids but some fish contains mercury. What's a family to do?

The WA State Dept. of Health says it is safe for children to eat canned light tuna once a week - 1 ounce for every 20 pounds of body weight or 4 ounces for an 80 pound child.   Good to know!

What if you are pregnant or planning to be?  How about our local salmon?  Which fish are highest in healthy omega-3 fatty acids?

WADOH answers these questions and more, while helping you eat more fish and reducing your exposure to toxic chemicals:  http://1.usa.gov/18OqKYN
