Jewelry Thief Targeted Elderly In Bellevue: Police
Bellevue police caught the thief after he visited local pawn shops to sell stolen goods.

BELLEVUE, WA — Bellevue police recently arrested an employee at a downtown assisted living facility for stealing some $37,000 worth of jewelry from senior citizens living there, according to police.
Police began looking into the matter after three thefts that happened in June. In separate incidents, the thief stole two rings, 10 watches, and a single diamond ring from men and women living at the facility.
A Bellevue detective was able to figure out that an employee at the facility had sold jewelry at a local pawn shop. The employee was taken to jail on charges of first-degree theft and trafficking stolen property.
