Man With Gun Powder Arrested Sunday In Phantom Lake

The 48-year-old Bellevue man had allegedly recently pointed a rifle at his young daughters.

BELLEVUE, WA - Bellevue police late Sunday night executed a search warrant at a Phantom Lake home due to a man reportedly in possession of gun powder. The suspect, a 48-year-old Bellevue man, was arrested without incident after Bellevue and King County SWAT teams went to his home.

The man was recently involuntarily committed and was released on Sept. 12 from a mental health facility. Shortly after, he allegedly assaulted his 14 and 17-year-old daughters, including pointing a rifle at the 17-year old. Police had seized all of the man's guns from his home along the 16700 block of Southeast 14th Street.

However, police later learned that the man was in possession of gun powder, which police deemed a safety threat to anyone in his house, and anyone living nearby.
