Bellevue Man Arrested After Hitting Woman At Bus Stop
The man drove a pickup truck towing a boat into a bus stop in the Wilburton area on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
BELLEVUE, WA — A Bellevue man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after he drove a pickup truck towing a boat into a RapidRide bus stop in the Wilburton area, trapping a woman underneath the vehicle.
The collision happened before 5 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Northeast 8th Street and 120th Avenue Northeast. The woman was sitting at the King County Metro RapidRide B line stop at the southeast corner when the truck careened over the sidewalk.
The woman, who is in her 30s, was trapped under the truck for a short time. Bellevue firefighters pulled her out, and reported that she was awake and talking. She was taken to Overlake Hospital for treatment.

The collision closed both directions of Northeast 8th for a brief period, causing a serious traffic mess east of downtown. Both westbound lanes were open as of 6 p.m., but the eastbound lanes were still closed.
The 33-year-old pickup truck driver was taken to jail on a vehicular assault charge, according to Bellevue police.
