Police Warn Of Man Who Offered Girl, 14, A Ride

The man drove by the teen several times before offering her a ride, according to police.

MEDINA, WA - Police are alerting local residents about a strange encounter between a man in a car and a 14-year-old girl.

On Tuesday just before 6 p.m., a 14-year-old girl was walking along Evergreen Point Road in Medina near Northeast 16th Street. A man driving an older white BMW drove by the teen three times before he stopped to offer her a ride, according to Medina police.

The teen declined the ride and reported the incident to her mother. Police described the man as "a white male in his twenties, blond/orange colored hair, crooked teeth and wearing a black shirt and dark sunglasses."

"Please talk with your children and remind them not to accept rides from anyone they do not know and to immediately inform the [police] of any suspicious circumstances," Medina Chief Steve Burns wrote in a bulletin about the incident.
