Rare Pianos on View at Classic Pianos in Bellevue This Week

Finely crafted, rare Bösendorfer pianos to be featured at selection event at Classic Pianos showroom in Bellevue

Classic Pianos of Bellevue will host a Bösendorfer Factory Selection event, which features a special collection of uniquely beautiful pianos from the world’s oldest premium piano manufacturer, by invitation only from March 26 to 28, and open to the public on Sunday, March 29. This showcase and sale, taking place at Classic Piano’s Bellevue showroom (10635 NE 8th Street, Bellevue, Washington), represents one of the largest selections of Bösendorfer pianos ever to be displayed in a single location in the United States.
“The Bösendorfer Factory Selection event is an incredibly rare opportunity for our customers to play such a large and varied collection of extraordinary instruments from this legendary company,” said Ben Klinger, sales manager, Classic Pianos of Bellevue. “We encourage people to come out and see this spectacular, limited-time only display and sale which will inspire the ears and eyes of musicians and music lovers alike.”
Handmade since 1828 from the choicest Austrian spruce, Bösendorfer are renowned for their peerless quality and craftsmanship, along with their rich, distinctive Viennese sound. Only 300 pianos are crafted each year.
Among the instruments to be featured at Classic Pianos’ four-day event are several limited edition Bösendorfer models, including the all-new Schönbrunn, the first model of only nine made; an exclusive Klimt, part of Bösendorfer’s Artist Series; a one-of-a-kind Model 280 Vienna Concert Grand; and a Bösendorfer designed by the world-famous Porsche Design company. The event will also feature traditional models in many styles, sizes and finishes.

The Schönbrunn, which epitomizes the Bösendorfer brand, is an elegant hand-built instrument with inspiring sound that taps into the best of the company’s 186-year heritage. The second in the limited edition “Marquetry Series,” the 2015 Schönbrunn is a tribute to the magnificent gardens and murals of Vienna’s famed baroque Schönbrunn Palace, which played host to many leading figures from the arts, including the six-year old Mozart, who performed there in 1762.
The Model 200 Klimt, one of only 25 made, was created in cooperation with the Belvedere Museum in Vienna to honor one of the most famous Austrian painters, the late Gustav Klimt. The Klimt features an image of the artist’s legendary work entitled “The Kiss” on the inside of its lid. In addition to this image, craftsmen applied additional elements of real gold leaf to dazzling effect.
The exclusive Model 280 Vienna Concert Grand, developed with the input of many renowned pianists and conductors, holds its own against the power of a large orchestra, but also has the sensitivity to offer nuanced accompaniment to chamber music.
Classic Piano will also feature a Bösendorfer model designed by the world-famous Porsche Design Company that offers an exciting contemporary approach and groundbreaking new features to the grand piano. While the body of the instrument maintains its traditional curved form, it has a thinner and lighter lid made of lightweight high-tech honeycomb material that inserts flush into the piano rim. The lid can be opened and closed by a gas spring mechanism, and its hinged front portion features a foldout music desk.

Bösendorfer representatives will be on hand to assist interested clients and authorize attractive financing options at this rare showcase in the Pacific Northwest.
No purchase is necessary, but reservations are required for the three private sale days starting on Thursday, March 26. The public is welcomed to attend the event from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 29. For more information, or to reserve a time for a private appointment, call (425) 451-4774.
