Roadway Nail Saboteur Strikes Again In Bellevue

Residents in a Bellevue neighborhood have been finding nails along a main road for more than a year.

BELLEVUE, WA - A roadway saboteur at work in southeast Bellevue struck again recently. The unidentified Grinch has been leaving nails along Southeast 60th Street for more than a year now.

In the latest incident, police found 10 nails near the intersection of Southeast 60th Street and Southeast Cougar Mountain Drive, about a block east of the Open Window School.

Bellevue police responded to the same area on July 11, 2017, to collect a "large amount of nails" scattered across the roadway. The nail bandit also struck on July 10, 2017, sometime between 8 p.m. and midnight.

"This is an infrequent but recurring problem in this neighborhood," police noted in a report about last year's nailings.
