Sky Metalwala Still Missing After 7 Years
Nov. 6 was the anniversary of 2-year-old Sky Metawala's disappearance in Bellevue.

BELLEVUE, WA - The 7th anniversary of 2-year-old Sky Metawala's disappearance came and went on Tuesday. There hasn't been a sign of the boy since he vanished from his mother's car broken down on a Bellevue street.
Bellevue and Redmond police and the FBI have received thousands of tips over the years. But you can still send tips to Bellevue police Capt. Travess Forbush at (425) 452-6045 or email tforbush@bellevuewa.gov.
On Nov. 6, 2011, Metalwala, his sister, and his mother, Julia Biryukova, were on their way to Overlake Hospital when Biryukova's car ran out of gas. She left Metalwala and his sister to go get help. When she returned to the car, Metalwala was gone, and he hasn't been seen since.

Police are suspicious of Biryukova's excuse for leaving Metalwala and his sister in the car. Police say they found several gallons of gas in her car, and never found a gas can near the car or at Biryukova's home. Biryukova and Metalwala's father, Soloman Metalwala, were in the midst of a divorce when the boy disappeared.
Bellevue police believe Biryukova knows where Sky Metalwala is, and have urged her to come forward with any information she has.

"Ms. Biryukova please contact the Bellevue Police Department to allow us the opportunity to help find your son," Bellevue police Chief Steve Mylett told Q13 on the 2016 anniversary of Metalwala's disappearance. "We are more than willing to work with you and your attorney to identify a convenient time and location to discuss Sky's disappearance. I am convinced you hold the key to finding Sky. The employees of the Bellevue Police Department will not stop searching for Sky, but I cannot emphasize enough the role you play in successfully locating your little boy."
